The Egyptian parliament, headed by Dr. Ali Abdel-Al, finally approved a new law, in mid-June, to regulate parking slots and public Garages, the law governing the parking guys, known as “Al Sayes”.
The law aims to define the necessary rules and guidelines to use public “parking slots”, in an orderly and decent manner, to establish committees in each governorate, to prevent random parking on both sides of roads and double parking, which leads To heavy traffic, and to determine the approved parking areas.
Penalties for violators of the new “Sayes” law:
– Whoever practices the activity of organizing vehicle parking in places other than the specified places or without a license, shall be punished with imprisonment for a period not exceeding 6 months and a fine of not less than 5 thousand pounds and not exceeding 10 thousand pounds, or by one of these two penalties, and the penalty is doubled in case of recurrence,
– A penalty of imprisonment for a period not exceeding 3 months and a fine of not less than 1,000 pounds and not exceeding 5,000 pounds, or one of these two penalties, licensed “Sayes” who collects amounts from citizens exceeding the value determined by the committee, and the penalty is doubled by its limit in case of recurrence.
